Bakkie, truck collision claims two lives in CT

CAPE TOWN - Two people have been killed after a truck and a bakkie collided on Old Faure Road near Khayelitsha.

Traffic has been affected between Mew Way and Spine Road.

Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says, "Currently, the occupants in the bakkie are still trapped and both the driver and passenger died in this accident. Old Faure Road has been closed for traffic."

In another incident, during the early hours of this morning, the driver of an Audi lost control of his vehicle while driving in Mitchells Plain.

One person was killed.

In a third incident near Caledon last night, a man and a four-year-old child were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with another vehicle.


In Johannesburg, 12 people have been injured in a bus crash south of Johannesburg after the vehicle overturned in Eikenhof.

It's alleged the driver lost control.

ER24's Pieter Rossouw says the injured have been transported to hospital with injuries varying from serious to moderate.

"The traffic in the area was seriously affected because there's a school on the same road. The cause is still unknown but local authorities are on scene for further investigation."
