CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police say no arrests have been made following the rape of a 13-year-old Mfuleni girl.
The teenager's rape is one of the latest incidents brought to the police's attention as Child Protection Week draws to a close tomorrow.
At the same time, a 24-year-old man has been charged with the rape of a boy in Atlantis along the Cape's West Coast.
While Cape Town police have yet to make an arrest for the rape of a 13-year-old Mfuleni girl, the alleged rapist of a 12-year-old Atlantis boy is behind bars.
The teenage girl was reportedly ambushed by two armed men in her home more than a week ago, as she was preparing to go to school.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old accused of raping a 12-year-old boy appeared in court yesterday for the first time following his arrest earlier this week.
He's accused of beating and raping the child in a field in a suburb called Robinvale, a week ago.
Both of the young victims have had to undergo medical examinations and are receiving counselling following the sexual assaults.
