JOHANNESBURG - City Press editor Ferial Haffajee says she's only resigning from the paper because it's time to move on and she wants to learn about other types of journalism.

Haffajee will leave the paper at the end of July.

She's been the editor of City Press since 2009.

The outgoing editor says she's going to miss working there.

"I have loved Media24 and still consider myself family. I think it's clear from the statement from the company that this was me feeling that I needed to move on and move on happily."
