Saadiqah Lippert murder case postponed

Two men are accused of shooting & killing the little girl while she was playing with friends near her home.

CAPE TOWN - The bail hearing of two men accused of fatally shooting six-year-old Saadiqah Lippert in Athlone has been postponed.

The accused appeared in the Athlone Magistrates Court today where the case was postponed for two weeks.

They allegedly shot and killed the little girl while she was playing with friends near her home in Hazendal.



Courtroom F was packed with Lippert's relatives, as well as family members of the accused.

The two men smiled at family in the public gallery as they were led down to the holding cells following their brief appearance.

Outside, courtyard supporters and family members of the slain six-year-old chanted 'Justice for Diqah'.

The State has indicated it was not ready to proceed with the bail application today as the investigating officer was not available.

The mother of one of the accused said she was too heartbroken to talk to the media.
