No word from Mcebisi Jonas on scrapping of state capture probe
There's no explanation as to why Jonas didn’t take part in the ANC's probe into state capture claims.
JOHANNESBURG - The Finance Ministry says Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas is not commenting on the ANC's cancelled state capture investigation, after former government spokesperson Themba Maseko, confirmed this afternoon that he had made a submission to the probe.
Yesterday, ANC Secretary General Gwede Mantashe said that probe was being stopped because only one person had made a submission. WATCH: Jonas: The Guptas offered me SA finance minister job.

Earlier this year, Jonas said in a formal statement, that the Gupta family had offered him the job of Finance Minister before Nhlanhla Nene was removed from the post by President Jacob Zuma.
Jonas was adamant the Gupta family had offered him a top government post.
"Members of the Gupta family offered me the position of the finance minister to replace the then minister Nene. I rejected this out of hand."
But now, there's no explanation as to why he did not take part in the ANC's investigation into these claims.
Meanwhile, Themba Maseko used Twitter to confirm he did make a submission after he had claimed the Guptas tried to force him to use government money to help the New Age newspaper.
