JOHANNESBURG - Police say they're still trying to establish the motive behind the murder of an estate agent whose body was found in Elandvlei near Randfontein.

Hanlie Lategan was reported missing on Monday in Krugersdorp after she failed to arrive for a meeting.

Her body was discovered by school children near a stream yesterday.

The police's Appel Ernst says, "Her vehicle was later found near Krugersdorp Hospital and there was activity on her bank account. She was later identified by family members and we are investigating her murder."

Lategan's family say she was a well-known and loved member of her community.

Her son-in-law, Werner van Heerdan, says she leaves behind three adult children and a husband - who are all in shock.

"She was a bubbly and friendly person and made friends everywhere she went. People have been coming and dropping off flowers at home."
