JOHANNESBURG - The body of an estate agent who went missing in Krugersdorp has been found in Elandsvlei near Randfontein.

A group of school children made the grim discovery near a stream in the wetlands this morning.

Police have confirmed the family has identified the victim as 52-year-old Hanlie Lategan, who was reported missing yesterday after she failed to arrive for a meeting.

The police's Appel Ernst says they are investigating a case of murder.

"Yesterday, a 52-year-old female went missing in Krugersdorp. Her vehicle was later found near the hospital. There was activity on her bank account last night."

Lategan's family say she was a well known and loved member of her community.

Her son-in-law, Werner van Heerdan, says she leaves behind three adult children and a husband, who are all in shock.

"She was a bubbly and friendly person and made friends everywhere she went. People were coming and dropping off flowers at home."
