Three killed in Delft shootings at the weekend
Five people were shot but three lost their lives, including a four-year-old child.
CAPE TOWN - At least five people have been shot in Delft over the past the weekend.
Three of them, including a child, died.
The shootings are thought to be gang-related.
The four-year-old boy was shot in the stomach by a stray bullet on Sunday.
The Delft Community Policing Forum (CPF)'s Jamiel Spannenberg says, "We urge the community to work in partnership with the police to really grab this crime bull by the horns."
He says, "These are really unnecessary killings; like the situation where a young man was found in possession of an illegal firearm but was released in the care of the parents. Just couple of days later, he was killed."
