CAPE TOWN - More than four hundred people have been arrested by Khayelitsha police during several operations this past week.

Among those in custody include suspects wanted for murder, carjacking and robbery in the greater Khayelitsha cluster.

A man, believed to be linked to 22 armed robberies in the Peninsula, was also nabbed during tracing operations.

The police's Andre Traut says, "The Khayelitsha Cluster executed several crime prevention operations during the past week, which has led to the arrest of 450 suspects on various charges. Three suspects were arrested for being in possession of illegal firearms."

Some of the suspects are expected to appear at courts in Khayelitsha, Somerset West and Strand today.
