JOHANNESBURG - A 16-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his friend to death during a fight over borrowed clothing in the Free State.
The teenager fled on foot while his 17-year-old friend was declared dead on the scene on Saturday evening.
The boy handed himself over to police in Thabong this morning.
The police's Mamello Mokhuone says the boy has been released into the custody of his grandmother until his court appearance on Wednesday.
"It's alleged the victim went to his friend's house to fetch his cap when a fight ensued over clothes they had borrowed each other and the suspect stabbed the victim once in the chest. He was declared dead at the scene."
