CT Hawks official recovering in hospital after attack
The 35-year-old officer was ambushed by three assailants on Tuesday evening.
CAPE TOWN - A Cape Town Hawks officer is in a stable condition after he was shot near Delft.
The official was ambushed by three assailants while travelling home on Tuesday night.
He was struck in the stomach before he drove himself to a local hospital.
The Hawks' Lloyd Ramovha says, "It is alleged the officer was approaching the traffic lights at the time of the attack when the suspects fired at him. The brave officer managed to return fire at the assailants who fled the scene."
