Briane Reynolds steps down amid financial mismanagement claims
Reynolds’s resignation follows an internal investigation at Western Province Aquatics.
CAPE TOWN - Western Province Aquatics President Briane Reynolds has resigned.
Reynolds, who also serves as the vice president of Swimming South Africa, has been mentioned in an internal financial investigation in to Western Province Aquatics' financial affairs.
The organisation has been running at a loss.
In the report, Reynolds has been implicated in various instances of financial mismanagement, including Lotto funding, which apparently wasn't officially disclosed.
It also includes a sponsorship agreement with a prominent swimming brand that was allegedly withheld from the executive committee.
Swimming clubs in the Cape have until today to respond to the findings.
