Taraji P Henson to promote Fox channel on trip to SA

Multichoice says the American actress will be in the country for a meet and greet with fans.

JOHANNESBURG - Multichoice has announced the extension of the global entertainment channel Fox which will be made available to DSTv compact viewers in South Africa on 1 June.

American actress Taraji P. Henson will be promoting the move in a five day trip to Johannesburg next month.

Fans of the drama series Empire will also get to meet the Emmy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner in a meet and greet session scheduled during her time in the city.

Henson plays the feisty Cookie Lyon with flashy fashion sense and witty remarks, opposite her ex-husband and the ruthless head of the Lyon Empire, Lucious Lyon played by Terrence Howard.

Mutlichoice has released a statement explaining how Fox channel's move to DStv Compact will significantly increase its reach to a wider audience and will give compact customers the added benefit of exclusive premieres of some of its shows within hours of the United States broadcast.

A rebroadcast of the second season of Empire will be broadcast with double bill episodes starting on the weekends of 4-5 June, 11-12 June and 18-19 June.
