Manqele was found guilty of killing her rapper boyfriend Nkululeko "Flabba" Habedi and sentenced to 12 years in jail.

Habedi was stabbed at his home in Alexandra last March.

Manqele's defence submitted to the court today that acting Judge Solly Sithole misapplied the law when he found her guilty of killing Habedi.

Her lawyer, Norman Makhubele, said the court was incorrect in separating the fatal stabbing of Habedi and the events that lead to it.

He says he believes another court could come to a different conclusion.

But Judge Sithole disagreed.

Manqele has maintained that she stabbed Habedi in self-defence as she felt that her life was in danger.
