JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi says he will examine evidence regarding what he calls a worrying question involving a cartoon criticising President Jacob Zuma, included in a recent exam at a private Christian school in the province.

The cartoon by Zapiro depicts president Zuma lounging in a swimming pool full of money.

It was used in the grade six exam, along with the question "would you vote for this man?"

One pupil is believed to have responded "No, as he is quote "stupid and "selfish when it comes to money" and the teacher apparently responded by writing "good" next to that answer.

Lesufi says the situation is extremely concerning.

"We need to be very careful of the information that we teach our children and the information that is within the syllabus and outside the syllabus and the manner in which we need to engage with our children. It's a very thin line, it's very important that we observe that thin line at all times."
