Bellville couple arrested for insurance fraud amounting to R500k
Security forces executed three raids while investigating two recent fraudulent insurance claims.
CAPE TOWN - The Hawks and the National Investigations Unit have arrested a Cape Town couple for insurance fraud amounting to R500,000.
Yesterday, security forces executed three simultaneous raids, two in Vredenburg and one in Bellville, while investigating two recent fraudulent insurance claims.
It was during the raid in Bellville that the pair were arrested.
Officials also seized several documents and suspected stolen property.
Hawks spokesperson Lloyd Ramovha said, "The couple has been charged with fraud and will appear in the Bellville Magistrates Court on Monday."
