Uber to introduce cash payment option in SA
Uber has announced South Africa is the first country where it will now experiment with cash payments.
JOHANNESBURG - Uber has announced South Africa is the first country where it will now experiment with cash payments and not only take credit card payment.
The lift service says cash is the dominant payment in Africa and therefore has included another payment option to reach more customers.
The new cash payment option will be launched next week.
Uber's Alon Lits says there are various options to make cash payments safe and secure.
"We are also working on a partnership with FNB, where drivers will be able to go to an ATM and deposit cash into that ATM if they feel unsafe or if they feel they have a large amount of cash with them."
