'The Last Face' to premiere at Cannes Film Festival
'The Last Face' was shot in SA and stars Oscar winners Charlize Theron and Javier Bardem.
CANNES, FRANCE - The film Sean Penn shot in South Africa will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this evening.
Titled The Last Face, the movie stars Oscar winners Charlize Theron and Javier Bardem, who are in the south of France for the premiere.
Theron may be South African, but the film's producers say it's the country's versatile locations and production incentives that made it ideal for the movie.
Places like Cape Town, Port Edward, and Upington stand in for Zurich and Western Africa.
The production took advantage of the 20 percent rebate South Africa offers for foreign works with budgets of at least R12 million.
