Suspect in R200k tik bust expected in court
The 44-year-old woman was busted at Cape Town International earlier this week.
CAPE TOWN - A woman who was arrested with tik worth more than R200,000 in her possession at Cape Town International Airport is due in the Bellville Magistrates Court today.
The 44-year-old was nabbed on Tuesday with a kilogram of the narcotic strapped to her body.
The police's Frederick van Wyk says, "Police members attached to Cape Town International Airport conducted stop and search duties at International Departures when a 44-year-old female was found with three compressed packets suspected to be a tik.
"The suspect was arrested and will appear in court once being charged."
This bust comes in the wake of several other drug hauls made at the airport in which authorities have netted drugs worth more than R5 million this month alone.
