CAPE TOWN - National Treasury has released a statement saying it is making progress in carrying out the Constitutional Court deadline to determine how much President Jacob Zuma should repay for Nkandla upgrades.

The statement quotes the Constitutional Court ruling on 31 March, which calls on the department to determine a reasonable percentage of the costs of those measures which ought to be paid personally by the president.

Treasury says it was given 60 court days to deliver the work, which means the deadline is 28 June.

Treasury says the assessment and final report will be submitted to the Constitutional Court in due course and a detailed account of the work that has been undertaken will be made public at an appropriate time.
