CANNES, FRANCE - A new documentary about Oscar Pistorius is piquing interest at the Cannes Film Festival.

The film, based on the book _Behind the Door: The Oscar Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp Story _by Mandy Wiener and Barry Bateman, promises to go deeper into the story behind the shooting.

Paulene Abrey says three years later, there's still much interest in the story of Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp.

She says the documentary won't just be a rehash and will be done in the style of other popular true story series.

"It's not going to be one documentary but a process of two or three. It's like O.J. Simpson's, a continual thing."

Pistorius was convicted of Steenkamp's murder after he shot her through his bathroom door, claiming he thought she was an intruder.

On 13 February 2013, Steenkamp posted her last tweet.

What do you have up your sleeve for your love tomorrow??? #getexcited #ValentinesDay

She died the next day.

Abrey's company is also developing a movie involving virtual reality.
