JOHANNESBURG - Bafana Bafana coach, Shakes Mashaba has named his squad to travel to Bakau to play Gambia in his team's penultimate Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Mashaba says there is still a lot to play for.

"Everyone has ruled us out, but that doesn't mean we must go there like sheep to be slaughtered. There's a lot to play for. All the players on the list were selected on merit. Also, the way we see things will differ."

Looking to develop younger players and give them a shot at senior level, Mashaba says he wishes he could've picked more inexperienced players.

"Players in junior teams are for the future. I would've brought in an U20 player too if they weren't travelling."

The match takes place on Saturday, 4 June at Independence Stadium in Bakau, and kicks off at 19:00 SA time.
