JOHANNESBURG - According to Moeletsi Mbeki, the argument that whites control South Africa's economy is a thing of the past. He says there's quite a sizeable number of black people who are the economic elite, who earn R50 000 a month and above.

He was in a panel discussion on protecting democracy at the Franschhoek Literary Festival over the weekend.
