Shocking new evidence emerges in Sinoxolo Mafevuka’s murder case
An eyewitness claims he saw the accused dragging the teenager toward the communal toilets.
CAPE TOWN - The State's latest witness in the murder of a Khayelitsha teen has made a shocking revelation against the two accused cousins.
The cousins' marathon bail hearing continued in the Khayelitsha Magistrates Court today.
The State prosecutor told the court new information has come to light since the pair's last court appearance.
Although the two men's lawyer, Thabo Nogemane, objected to the new information being presented at this late stage, the magistrate allowed it.
The investigating officer Batiki Tshabalala read the statement of an eyewitness who claims he saw what happened to Mafevuka on the night she was killed in March.
He claims the young woman was struggling and screaming but that he was too scared to do anything and ran away.
Tshabalala says the witness believes the accused killed Mafevuka and he will testify in court.
