[LISTEN] Presidency responds to reports of Pravin Gordhan's imminent arrest

Acting Presidency spokesperson Bongani Ngqulunga says law enforcement agencies have denied the story and so they have no reason not to believe the rumours are true.

JOHANNESBURG - Acting Presidency spokesperson Bongani Ngqulunga has maintained that Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan will not be arrested.

Ngqulunga says reports about Gordhan are being spread by what it believes are dangerous information peddlers.

He says the National Prosecuting Auhtority (NPA) is an independent institution and whoever they decide to investigate, they don't have to involve the president.
