Thrilling escape for under-par Stormers
The 17-17 result gives Robbie Fleck's charges a valuable 2 points as they return to South African shores.
JOHANNESBURG - The Stormers escaped with a 17-17 draw in Singapore, thanks to a last-minute try from Vincent Koch.
The Cape Outfit only came to life in the final 15 minutes of the match, before that, they had controlled possession but only had three points to show for it, while the hosts looked the better of the two sides, taking a 14-3 lead into the break.
The 2nd half performance, in which the Stormers outscored the Sunwolves by 14 points to three, will give the South African group leaders some confidence. However, they will be worried that had they been playing against a more clinical side, matters would have likely ended in defeat.
The result gives Robbie Fleck's charges a valuable two points as they return to South African shores for a meeting against the Bulls at Loftus next weekend.
