Christie Viljoen, an economist at KPMG South Africa talks about the reasons why the South African economy has been under-performing and sluggish growth.

JOHANNESBURG - The latest world economic outlook by the International Monetary Fund has revealed South Africa is no longer the second largest economy in Africa, losing the position to Egypt.

Economist Christie Viljoen says despite Egypt's political unrest, its economy has since some significant growth. He says Egypt's economy has managed to attract huge pools of foreign direct investments.

Investors are now reaping the rewards despite the political upheavals in the country.
