First on EWN: Magistrate targeted in alleged racist attack in PTA
The magistrate says the windows of his BMW were smashed after a young white male called him the k-word.
JOHANNESBURG - A Randfontein magistrate has told Eyewitness News he was attacked in what's believed to be a racial incident near the Montana Hospital in Pretoria.
Mphafolane Koma says he was driving in the Pretoria region on Monday when a car stopped and a young man jumped out with a hammer in his hand.
He says the windows of his BMW were smashed with the hammer after a young white man called him the k-word.
His 12-year-old daughter was in the car at the time of the attack.
The suspect has since been arrested and will be appearing in court today.
Koma says he doesn't know the man, but he could have dealt with him or someone he knows in court at some stage. He says the man wants to be released on bail and he believes it was a racial attack because the man called him the k-word.
It's the latest in a string of racist incidents this week.
