2 injured following light aircraft crash in Midrand

JOHANNESBURG - A light aircraft has crashed in Midrand, leaving two people injured.

Shortly before 4am this morning, paramedics arrived on the scene near Kruger Avenue near the airport.

ER24's Werner Vermaak says, "They found a light aircraft upside-down lying in an open field near Grand Central Airport. The medical team found two men, believed to be in their early 30s, walking around on the scene with minor injuries."

He says, "Both of them were later assessed on the scene and transported through to Sunninghill Hospital for medical treatment."
