Cops nab 2 for abalone worth R1m

CAPE TOWN - Police have arrested two men in Athlone for the possession of abalone worth more than R1 million.

The pair was nabbed yesterday.

They're expected to appear in court on Monday.

The police's Andre Traut said, "Yesterday a joint operation lead to the arrest of two suspects for being possession of 12,394 pieces of abalone with an estimated street value of R1.2 million."
