Liberty Promenade Mall robbed, no injuries
Six suspects, three of them armed, robbed a store at the mall before fleeing the scene with money.
CAPE TOWN - Shoppers at the Liberty Promenade Mall in Mitchells Plain have been left shaken following a brazen robbery earlier today.
Six suspects, three of them armed, robbed a store at the mall before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police say no shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident.
The police's Frederick van Wyk said, "It's alleged the unknown suspects were inside the mall pretending to be customers when they approached the two security officers. Three armed suspects pointed firearms at the security guards and took money bags containing an undisclosed amount of cash. Both the security officials' firearms were taken and six suspects fled the scene."
