The Dial-A-Ride User Forum represents people with disabilities and members will demonstrate today.
CAPE TOWN - The Dial-A-Ride User Forum will march to Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille's office in demonstration against the apparent lack of transport for the disabled.
The forum represents people with disabilities and members will demonstrate in the Cape Town CBD today.
The forum's Shirlene Jonker said the demand for transport is growing.
"The main concern is the deduction in the amount of buses, we had 44 and it's now onto 20. The demand is growing so you can imagine the issues that goes around that. People are spending long hours on the buses."
Dial-a-Ride is a public transport service for people with disabilities who, due to the nature of their disability, are unable to use mainstream public transport.
