JOHANNESBURG - American President Barack Obama has confirmed he's approved the deployment of as many as 250 additional US personnel to Syria.
He says the group includes Special Forces, to train and assist local forces fighting the Islamic State militants.
Speaking in Germany a short while ago, Obama announced he's backed the deployment to build on momentum from Special Forces already on the ground in Syria in driving Isis out of key areas.
Obama also spoke passionately about the migrant crisis, saying world leaders need to shoulder the responsibility together.
