JOHANNESBURG - A Vereeniging police officer accused of murdering his wife in 2014 has been released on R10,000 bail.

He allegedly shot and killed her in their home but claimed she died during a house breaking.

The man was arrested yesterday.

The police's Robert Netshiwunda says the officer will appear in court on 12 May.

"He was given conditions that he must not leave Gauteng and not make contact with either his in-laws or witnesses. He also to hand over children to the in-laws."
