JOHANNESBURG - The nominations for the 22nd South African Music Awards have been announced.

There were a few surprises at the Soweto Theatre this morning with Tresor leading with four nods while new kid on the hip-hop block Emtee also received a handful of nominations.

Other artists on the bill for the 'New Comer' award include Riky Rick and Fifi Cooper.

House sensation Black Coffee is up against François van Coke, Emtee and Nathi and Tresor for the big 'Album of the Year' award.

The ceremony will take place on 4 June in Durban.
