JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng Education Department says it successfully received over 200,000 applications within the first 24 hours of its new registration website going live.
The process finally launched on Tuesday afternoon following technical problems which left many parents frustrated.

Officials have also been deployed to schools around the province to assist parents who are still battling to use the system.
Spokesperson Oupa Bodibe says, "The site is fully operational and we are happy to report that within less than 48 hours after opening it, we have 220,000 successful applications that have been processed on the site."
