CAPE TOWN - Stormers coach Robbie Fleck has made five changes to his side for their clash against The Reds at Newlands on Saturday.

The most notable change is Springbok centre Damian De Allende, who makes his first start since returning from injury and he will take up the vice captaincy role after Juan De Jongh suffered a concussion earlier in the week.

Fleck says De Allende's comeback is on track, "He was going to start, that was the plan, and we discussed it 3-4 weeks ago that this was the game he was to make his comeback."

Co-captain De Jongh has been in fine form of late did not train with the team all week, says Fleck.

"We got the medical report and he had a delayed concussion, he failed that test on Monday afternoon and the medical staff pulled him out."

Fleck added, "[De Jongh] should be good to go next week" while the coach was quietly disappointed about not being able to see the two Bok centres playing as a combination.

"He was going to be in the mix and I would have liked to have seen him and Damien start together but hopefully we can get that opportunity next week.

In the pack, veteran Rynhardt Elstadt also makes his first start of the season at lock alongside the impressive Pieter Steph Du Toit.

Siya Kolisi, fresh off a wonderful try against the Lions last weekend makes the starting line up with Schalk Burger set to come off the bench in Flecks' rotation policy amongst the loose forwards.

Whilst in the front row, both props are replaced with captain Frans Malherbe starting alongside Oli Kebble in a front row reshuffle.

The Stormers despite their 29-22 loss against the Lions remain at the summit of the South African conference as they prepare for the Reds.

The Queensland based side have already lost five games this season including a 41-22 loss to the Bulls last week picking up only one win so far in a season where they have already changed their head coach.
