US actress Doris Roberts dies at 90

Roberts, who played the mother on 'Everybody Loves Raymond', has died at the age of 90.

JOHANNESBURG - United States actress Dori Roberts, who played the mother on Everybody Loves Raymond, has died at the age of 90.

She died overnight in her sleep.

CBS released a statement saying Roberts "will be remembered for lighting up every room she walked into with an unparalleled combination of energy, humour, warmth and even a little bit of grit."

She's survived by her son, Michael Cannata, who she had with her first husband.

The cause of her death is not immediately known.
