Suspects linked to metro cop shooting arrested in Gauteng

JOHANNESBURG - Three suspects have been arrested in connection with yesterday's shooting in Vlakfontein, south of Johannesburg, in which a metro policeman was wounded.
The officer was shot in the head yesterday while chasing a group of men in a Volvo SUV.
The policeman is still in an induced coma at the Milpark Hospital.
Metro police spokesperson Edna Mamonyane says, "The investigating team has taken over from the Hawks [and] the charges at this stage, because the officer is still alive, will be attempted murder, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition."
