Djokovic, Hamilton grace red carpet at Laureus Awards

The sporting greats have begun arriving at the prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards in Berlin.

JOHANNESBURG - Guests are arriving at the Messe Berlin ahead of the prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards that sees some of the biggest names in come together at sport Oscars.

The red carpet is being graced by sporting heavyweights such as Novak Djokovic, Lewis Hamilton, Boris Becker, Nadia Comaneci, Sebastian Coe and Cathy Freeman.

In a mix of sport and glamour, tonight's proceedings will be hosted by Bill Murray, who'll no doubt have the crowd in raptures.

South Africa will be keenly looking out for South Africa's Pieter du Preez, who is a nominee in the disabled sportsperson of the year category.

It gets underway from 7:30pm this evening.
