CT cop shot dead outside his home

CAPE TOWN - A police officer has been killed in Phillipi-East, Cape Town.

The constable, who was stationed in Grassy Park, was shot dead outside his home early this morning.

He was then robbed of his service pistol.

The police's Noloyiso Rwexana says, "The member was sitting in his official Saps unmarked vehicle when he was attacked and robbed of his official firearm. The Western Cape Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Khombinkosi Jula, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family and colleagues of the slain member."
