Orange Farm tense after teen (15) shot during protests
The boy was shot, allegedly by a foreign businessman, during a service delivery protest in the area yesterday.
JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police say the situation remains tense in Orange Farm, a day after a 15-year-old boy was shot and wounded, allegedly by a foreign businessman during a service delivery protest.
The circumstances around the shooting are not yet clear but it's alleged the foreign national was trying to protect his stock when residents started looting.
Two people have been arrested for public violence while an attempted murder case has been opened.
The police's Johannes Motsiri says, "There are some stones in the roads but the police are still monitoring the situation. Apparently they said the local councilor is the problem. He's not fulfilling his mandate."
