CAPE TOWN - A Grade 9 learner at Modderdam High School, who was stabbed in the chest during school hours on Friday, is now in a stable condition in hospital.
The knife punctured one of the 15-year-old's lungs at the Bonteheuwel school.
His attacker, who is still at large, is believed to be a gangster.
Western Cape Education Department spokesperson, Jessica Shelver, said, "I can confirm that the learner did undergo surgery on Friday and is currently in a stable condition."
