JOHANNESBURG - A suspect accused of kidnapping a Polokwane woman for ransom has appeared in the local magistrate's court.

Anisa Moosa was abducted outside her uncle's home in Nirvana by three men who forced her into the back of her vehicle last month.

Moosa's family received a series of ransom demands but a police operation saw her returned home safely within three days.

The Hawks' Hangwani Mulaudzi says Tsome Kobo is believed to be one of the gang members and was arrested last Friday in Pretoria.

"He was then transported to Limpopo so he can face possible charges of abduction and kidnapping."

Mulaudzi says the suspect will remain in police custody until he reappears in court on 21 April.

At the same time, Moosa's family has thanked the authorities for working around the clock and say she is doing "well" after the ordeal.
