Jo’burg Water warns of 30-hour outage in Honeydew, surrounding areas
Honeydew and its surrounding areas will be out of water for 30 hours next week.
JOHANNESBURG - Jo'burg Water says residents in parts of Johannesburg can expect their taps to run dry from Tuesday morning next week.
The city says it will be doing maintenance on its water pipes at a Honey Dew reservoir.
The outage is expected to last for nearly 30 hours and will end on Wednesday afternoon.
Spokesperson Hilgard Matthews says "On 12 April, from 9am, we will be disrupting water services until 3pm on 13 April. The reason for the water interruption is the fact that Rand Water, which supplies water to Johannesburg Water, is having to do [maintenance] at the Honey Dew reservoir. This means that a new pipe they [fitted] needs to be brought into our reservoir."
