Zephany Nurse's kidnapper 'slipped & fell', was not assaulted
It's been reported that the 51-year-old was badly assaulted at Pollsmoor Prison.
CAPE TOWN - The lawyer for Zephany Nurse's kidnapper has denied claims she's been assaulted at Pollsmoor Prison.
Last month, the woman was found guilty of kidnapping Nurse when she was a baby, from Groote Schuur Hospital, in the late 1990s.
When contacted by Eyewitness News , lawyer Riaz Khan would only say that when he met with his client last Friday. She told him she fell after slipping on the floor.
It's been reported that the 51-year-old was badly assaulted, apparently because she receives special treatment.
A relative has told a newspaper that she is on a special diet because she is diabetic.
The family member alleges fellow inmates attacked her because they wanted to steal her food.
