CAPE TOWN - Cash rich Man City host Man City whilst Real Madrid are looking to make light work of German side Wolfsburg in this Uefa Champions League Quarter Final 1st Legs, EWN Sport previews both matches.

PSG V MAN CITY

There are real similarities between these two sides as both Manchester City and Paris St Germain are funded by flush Middle Eastern backers and are looking to make a significant impact in Europe to build lasting dynasties as they seek to become a part of the European elite.

PSG have stuttered since being crowned league champions in record time in Ligue 1 but with real European pedigree in their ranks they should be able to lift themselves for this massive clash.

City are making their first ever appearance in a Champions League quarter final, they themselves have stuttered recently after the announcement of their new incoming manager Pep Guardiola, without UCL progression their season risks fizzling out as Pellegrini's time in charge comes to an end.

PSG will rely on their talisman the iconic Swede Zlatan Ibrahimović for goals and leadership, he has an expensively assembled and world class back up cast with the likes of Angel Di Maria and Thiago Silva.

City will be happy to have Kevin De Bruyne fit again, he came back with a bang over the weekend in their 4-0 demolition of Bournemouth and his role alongside Sergio Aguero and David Silva is vital.

PSG head into the match at the Parc De Princes as favourites in this tie between the cash rich clubs having lost only one Champions League match in their last 19 since 2012.

WOLFSBURG V REAL MADRID

Real Madrid are the overwhelming favourites as they face German side Wolfsburg who are making their first ever appearance in a UCL Quarter Final.

Madrid are on a high after beating their eternal rivals over the weekend with 10 men, star Ronaldo scored the winner to lift spirits around the Bernabeu and boost new manager Zinedane Zidane's reputation as a manager.

Wolfsburg have endured a torrid season domestically where they sit in eighth spot in the Bundesliga, therefore they will be throwing everything into this match as their season depends on it.

Madrid's UCL campaign has been built on a solid defense having kept seven clean sheets in their last eight UCL matches but they have kept only one clean sheet in their last 10 matches in all competitions which will give the Germans a glimmer of hope.

Madrid's expensively assembled attack will be a worry for the Germans who have suffered without the injury of influential defender Naldo, he is a doubt for this evenings match.

It is hard to see Wolfsburg upsetting Madrid as the Spanish giants are experienced at this stage of the competition and come with real European pedigree.
