Cops appeal for info after JHB mayor's wife robbed in Sandton

Police says Philisiwe Twala-Tau was not harmed but the suspect fled with her laptop & cellphone.

JOHANNESBURG - Police have appealed for information that can assist in their investigation into the robbery involving Johannesburg Mayor Parks Tau's wife.

Philisiwe Twala-Tau had parked her vehicle in a parking lot in Sandton.

She says when she returned, she found a man fiddling with her vehicle.

The police's Tsekiso Mofokeng says she was not harmed but the suspect fled with her laptop and cellphone.

"Sandton police are investigating a case of theft. It is after a complainant had parked her vehicle at the parking lot and when she returned, she found unknown person fiddling with her vehicle and she screamed for help."
