Missing Outsourcing Must Fall activist makes contact
Vusi Mahlangu has now apparently made contact with someone in the Eastern Cape, saying he is in hiding.
JOHANNESBURG - The Outsourcing Must Fall movement has confirmed it is following up on a new lead relating to the disappearance of one of its activists.
Vusi Mahlangu has been missing since Tuesday.
He was last seen travelling on a taxi to a meeting with workers from the Walter Sisulu University.
He has now apparently made contact with someone in the Eastern Cape, saying he is in hiding and authorities can call off their search.
His colleague Mametlwe Sebei says they first want to verify the message.
"Yesterday, we received a tipoff from people very close to him in the Eastern Cape, who told us he sent a message. He's not able to come out of his hiding but people shouldn't be searching for him."
