Man killed in microlight crash in KZN

JOHANNESBURG - One person has died in a plane crash in the iLembe District.

The light aircraft went down in a sugarcane field in the Glendale area earlier today.

Police are now trying to establish why the plane went down.

Emergency Service's Robert McKenzie says the 60-year-old pilot was the only person on board.

"By the time we got there, the man had sadly passed away. The exact circumstances resulting in this crash are not known at this stage."
